What is the type of rock that glitters the most under the Sun?

The answer is, without a doubt, specular hematite.

It sparkles like glitter, is the color of silver glitter, it rubs off like glitter, it gets stuck to your hands for 3 days despite repeated attempts to wash the dang stuff off like glitter. It’s basically geologic glitter.

I once threw a pile of the stuff, collected from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan into a bag of mine. For the next three years, despite repeated washings, everything I pulled out of that bag came out sparkly.
